How to convert your Meta Business Suite into a Meta Business Portfolio (and why you should do it).
Meta's Business Portfolio system is the best way to safeguard and control access to your Facebook and Instagram business assets. It’s the step up from Business Suite which allows you to manage your assets, create content and view insights.
Here are four great reasons to transition:
Centralised management: Consolidate your business assets like pages, ad accounts, and partners in one place for seamless management.
Enhanced security: Gain access to advanced security features that protect your business assets.
Streamlined collaboration: Easily work with partners and clients by sharing access to specific resources without compromising control.
Access to insights: Leverage detailed analytics and reporting tools to understand your audience and optimise your strategies.
You in? Let’s go through this step-by-step guide to transitioning to a Meta Business Portfolio.
Before you start
You’ll need to be logged into your Facebook profile on a desktop computer and should be using a Chrome browser as it is the only browser truly supported by Meta so you’ll have the best experience.
You’ll need all your passwords and any phones or authentication apps you use for two-factor authentication (2FA). If you haven’t got a secure password or 2FA please do that first. You can find that by clicking on your personal profile settings and going to “password and security” in your Account Centre.
Welcome back! Here’s that step-by-step guide I promised:
Log into your Meta Business Suite account using your existing credentials.
In the Meta Business Suite dashboard, find and click on "Business Settings" to access the settings area.
Look for an option labeled "Business Portfolio" or similar within the Business Settings. [Note: This specific path may vary as Meta frequently updates its interface.]
Follow the prompts to initiate the transition to a Business Portfolio account.
Begin by adding your business pages, ad accounts, and Instagram profiles to your new Business Portfolio.
Ensure that all assets are correctly linked and verified within the system.
Define who has access to your Business Portfolio by setting permissions for team members and partners - I wouldn’t hand out full control to anyone by the business owners.
Head to “Business Info” and fill out all your business information including your email and you’ll be asked to verify your email address so do that too.
Add advanced security measures available in the Business Portfolio, such as two-factor authentication and login alerts, to protect your account.
That’s it!
